Facelift Patients
Who Is Getting A Face Lift?
What type of people get facelifts?
Facelift candidates are people whose face and neck have begun to droop, but who still have good skin elasticity and facial bone structure. More than 9 out of 10 facelift patients are women. Men make up only 8.9% of the total. Despite the difference in proportion of male to female facelift patients, the facelift procedure is the sixth most popular cosmetic plastic surgery procedure for both men and women.
Ages of facelift patients
In 2002, the age distribution of facelift patients was as follows:
- 1.1% of the patients were under the age of 35.
- 28.5% were between the ages of 35 and 50.
- 53.2% of the facelift patients were in the 51 to 64 year old age group.
- 17.2% were 65 and older
The age distribution for men and women is fairly similar, although male facelift patients tend to be slightly younger, on average.
