Dr. Renato Saltz is a native of Brazil, born in Uruguaina. He received his Medical Degree from Universidade Federeal Rio Grande de Sul School of Medicine in Porto Alegre, Brazil. He then moved to the United States to continue his medical training. He completed his Residency of General Surgery at Jackson Memorial Hospital at the University of Miami under Dr. Robert Zeppa. He completed his Residency of Plastic Surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham under Dr. Luis O. Vasconez.
Dr. Saltz remained in Birmingham to complete is Fellowship in Plastic Surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Saltz has held numerous academic appointments, including positions at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, the Medical College of Georgia and the University of Utah School of Medicine. Additionally, he as served in visiting professorships worldwide.
Dr. Saltz’s work has been published in both medical books and scientific journals, and he has received several awards and honors. He has also served as an officer of prestigious medical societies, such as President of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) and Vice President for the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS). One of his proudest community achievements is serving as the President and Founder of the Image Reborn Foundation of Utah. The purpose of the organization is to host no-cost healing retreats for women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.
